The new position is a Restitution coordinator and will make sure victims don't have to worry about the restitution part of their case.

With caseloads growing in complexity and numbers, and this position will take care of victims properly.

The position is funded by a grant and will make sure victims understand what is going on with their cases in terms of restitution handed down by the courts. District Attorney for Mesa County Dan Rubenstein has been adding victims assistance positions since he took office, mostly to make sure victims understand the court process.

This particular position will walk victims through the restitution process and will ensure victims get paid the restitution owed them.

The position has been posted and the D.A. is hopeful it will be filled in the next few weeks. The position does not draw off of sales tax, which has been used to hire more attorneys for the staff.
