A man is facing two felony charges after overdosing in the bathroom stall of a corrections facility in Greeley last month.

At 10:05 a.m on May 25, Greeley Police officers responded to a possible fentanyl overdose at the Intervention Community Corrections Services in Greeley. As per arrest records from the incident, staff stated they found 26-year-old Dakota White unresponsive in a stall in the second floor men’s restroom within the facility.

Once first responders arrived on scene, the Greeley Tribune said that White was administered three doses of Narcan. First responders reportedly also discovered aluminum foil with burnt residue, a hollowed ball point pen tube, a lighter and two blue round tablets while on scene.

Firefighters soon identified the tablets as 30 milligrams of Oxycodone, which White was not prescribed. Officials believe there's potential that the Oxycodone was laced with Fentanyl, considering the recent amount of overdose reports in the area.

According to arrest records, the Intervention Community Corrections Services in Greeley is a non-profit community corrections agency; a sign on the front door of the agency states that it is a felony to introduce or attempt to introduce contraband - such as drug paraphernalia - into the facility.

Given the circumstances of the incident, White was taken to North Colorado Medical Center  where he was read his Miranda Rights around 2:15 p.m on May 25.

He admitted to officers that he smoked opioids from the tablets shortly before overdosing.

White now faces two felony charges for the introduction of contraband and the unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

A disposition hearing is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on July 13 in Weld District Court.
