Man Arrested for Shooting at Taco Shop in Grand Junction

There is no doubt that that more people are on edge lately, with this unusual year more people are overreacting and acting out than ever before. And unfortunately, things got very dangerous when tempers flared at Los Jilbertos on North Avenue in Grand Junction the day before Thanksgiving.

Last night KKCO made the announcement that 29-year-old suspect Andy Berumen has been arrested in connection to the shooting that took place at 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25th. He is currently in custody according to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office and is being held without bond at this time. Berumen is being held on a parole violation.

The victim of the shooting has since been released from the hospital after the shooting. The original 911 call came in from the victim's mother who said that her son was being taken to the hospital by a private vehicle, upon arrival at the hospital they found the gunshot wound was not life-threatening.

Immediately after receiving the 911 call law enforcement officers responded to the taco shop to begin the investigation. At this time law enforcement has not released details as to how they figured out that Berumen was the suspect in this case.
