Are you ready to get outside and enjoy a Western Colorado motorcycle show? Your chance to check out vintage motorcycles from all over the country, listen to live music, and have some family fun, all while maintaining social distance, is coming to Montrose.

The Unknown Motorcycle Show, formerly known as the Vintage Motorcycle Days, is scheduled for Saturday, August 15. In addition to the new date, the event is moving to a new location.

For over a decade the show has been a fixture in downtown Palisade. In 2020, for the first time, the event will be held in downtown Montrose, Colorado. Like in past years, this event will feature:

  • Over 100 mesmerizing motorcycles
  • Custom choppers
  • Cool local vendors
  • Tasty food
  • Live music
  • Colorado sunshine
  • Kids activities
  • Awesome raffles
  • Family festivities

What will you see at this show? Well, unfortunately, I don't have a preview of the bikes to be featured at the 2020 show. People can register bikes right up to the morning of the show, so it's too early to tell what might appear. I can, however, provide a look at some of the awesome bikes showcased over the last two years. Smart money says some, or even most, of these will return in 2020.

Unknown Motorcycle Show

This event has always drawn visitors from across the country. Of course, if you're an enthusiast, you are invited to enter your bike in the show. Judging categories include:

  • American
  • British
  • European
  • Custom
  • Asian
  • Rat Bike
  • People’s Choice
  • Longest Distance Driven/Longest Distance Trailered
  • Mayor's choice (new for 2020)
  • Vineyard's Favorite (new for 2020)
  • "Peach of a Bike" (new for 2020)
  • Brenna's Trophy to a female motorcycle owner (new in 2020)

Live music returns this year with Grand Junction's very own Desert Flyer Band. When you put it all together, this is a free event, good for the entire family.

The Unknown Motorcycle Show is coming up Saturday, August 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Be sure to bring sunscreen, water, and maybe even a folding chair (if you want to hang out for the live music.) The price of "free" is pretty hard to beat. Social distancing protocols will be observed, so please bring your mask. Help welcome this event to its new location in Montrose, and join them for a ton of awesome vintage motorcycles and family fun.
