Who's ready to lounge by the water?

Maybe it's because I just got back from a beach vacation, but I've got water on the brain. There's something about laying out near a body of water, even if that body of water is man-made. I may love the sand between my toes, but I won't turn down a day at the pool with the sun shining down.

Now, my vacation was to the west coast, but beaches aren't only found by the ocean. Those beaches may be my favorite because of the salty air, but we can find some gorgeous beaches elsewhere. White sands and pebble beaches are just about everywhere.

In fact, a quick Google search of the word "beach" and you'll find that it can be as simple as "an expanse of sand or pebbles along a shore." That shore can be along the ocean, lake, river, or pond. As long as it's a body of water, I believe it qualifies.

And that's a good thing because hopping on a plane anytime I want to go to the beach can get a little pricey.
