Another Grand Junction school has closed due to illness. This makes four in the last week.

Juniper Ridge Community School announced on their Facebook page that they will close for the remainder of the week due to "higher than normal rate of illness-related absences of students and staff members."

Juniper Ridge says the closure will allow cleaning crews to disinfect the school while allowing staff and students to recover.

District 51 closed Rocky Mountain Elementary for Wednesday, expecting classes to resume on Thursday after another round of disinfecting.

Palisade High School and Mt. Garfield Elementary both closed for the same illness.

It's believed that norovirus is the main culprit.
