Jan. 9th is the Most Dangerous Day of the Year for Coloradans
Watch your step.
Pinnacol Assurance, Colorado's largest provider of worker compensation coverage, has recorded an average 198 claims on January 9th for the past five years.
Ellen Sarvay, a Pinnacol Safety Consultant told Denver Post, “When we ran these numbers we were sort of taken aback. We were trying to determine if there was a most dangerous week. Actually, the specific day of Jan. 9 is the most dangerous."
“Folks have been off on vacation and they aren’t quite as tuned in when they come back to work. They aren’t as used to coming out of the car and walking to the office,” said Sarvay.
As you ice skate your way to your car tomorrow morning just remember you are 62% more likely to slip and fall.
