Colorado is an absolutely fantastic state with some awesome places to live.

Throughout the years, multiple Colorado cities, like Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, Boulder, and Denver have been rated amongst the best places to live in the entire United States.

Heck, even our small towns, like Fruita out on the Western Slope, have been named some of the best in the country as well.

However, there have been some issues recently that have dropped Colorado’s overall rankings.

Once an easy Top 5 state in the country, Colorado has slipped all the way down to 16th in U.S. News’ list of best states in the country.

There’s a myriad of reasons why this is happening, but in one Colorado city, it’s certainly causing some people to jump ship.

In recent years, Denver has gone from one of the most sought-after places to move to for millennials to a place that people are trying to leave.

In a study that was done by the moving company PODS, it was found that Denver ranked as the 12th worst city in terms of move-out rates.

That’s actually a pretty significant jump from the year before as well, where Denver ranked 18th.

There’s a multitude of reasons why people could leave Denver.

Obviously, the insane housing market has been pricing people out of their own homes, with a record number of evictions already hitting the Mile High City this year.

A different study earlier in the year also found that Denver is one of the worst run cities in the U.S. as well, ranking 135th out of 149 cities in the poll.

In terms of the city that has seen the highest level of move-outs in the entire country, that honor goes to Los Angeles.

In fact, LA has held that title for the past two years. It is followed by yet another California city, San Francisco.

When it comes to the cities with the highest move-in levels in the country, it’s actually a tie between Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Wilmington, North Carolina.

Take a Look Inside The Molly Brown House Museum in Denver

Widely known as a survivor of the Titanic sinking, "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" was more than just that. Margaret "Molly" Brown fought for women's voting rights, labor rights, and was nearly a U.S. Senator.

The home in Denver, that she had once occupied with her husband and family, has been restored to its original look when Molly lived there.
