There was so much space it earned the nickname of "Space City." Over the years, little has arrived in Lochbuie to take up all that space.

Lochbuie, Colorado, is named after the Scottish community of Lochbuie, Null. This coastal community in Scottland features tidal islands and old castles. It's a much different look than what you find in Lochbuie, Colorado.

How did Lochbuie earn its designation as Colorado's ugliest town? Perhaps because it's pretty much void of anything. There are some mountains in the distance, but very little to help a visitor to discover its character. Lochbuie is flat, gray, and without much of the flora or wildlife that Colorado is known for.
