Grand Junction, we’ve got to act fast. Less than a month remains to say goodbye to the original Kannah Creek Brewing Company at 12th and Orchard.

October 24 will be the last day of brewing beer, serving food, and coming together at a local brewery that’s been a neighborhood hangout for 21 years.

The sign went up in late September. It says, “Get It While You Kannah.” If you have ever enjoyed a meal and a few drinks with friends at this Grand Junction favorite, it’s worth coming by one more time. Kannah Creek Brewing has a large banner outside its 12 Street location announcing the closure and offering a few final specials to encourage one more visit.

I stopped in on Saturday for lunch and some College Football, and to see what I could find out about the closure. The staff did not offer a reason for the closure, but they did confirm there are no plans to move, relocate, or continue brewing elsewhere. They did say they are incredibly grateful for Grand Junction’s support over the years.

The Kannah Creek Location That's Closing Is the Original One

The Kannah Creek Brewery is not the former Edgewater Brewery on Struthers Avenue. That location closed last year, but later reopened as WestCo Brewing under new ownership. The Kannah Creek location now closing is the original brewpub at 1960 N 12th Street near Colorado Mesa University.

If you have lived in Grand Junction for even a minute, I hope you will get a chance to stop by before they close later this month. They’ve been part of 12th Street and CMU for more than two decades. That matters to many here in the Grand Valley. Enjoy $5 Kannah pints and $5 Wells and Wines through 10/24.
