Grand Junction’s Lincoln Park Moyer Pool Has a Big Day Planned
Every summer for more than 20 years, Grand Junction has turned over the Lincoln Park Moyer Pool to our four-legged friends. That day is almost here.
The 22nd Annual Dog Days returns September 13, giving dogs the run of the pool from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paddling, soaking, fetching, and even diving-board leaps.

As is tradition at Dog Days, for the first hour, only dogs weighing 25 lbs or less are allowed in the pool. This will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Then, it's an all-dog party from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event takes place Sunday, September 13, at Lincoln Park-Moyer Pool, 1340 Gunnison Ave.
Dogs Can Swim. People Cannot
There is one important rule to know before heading to Dog Days: the pool is open to canines only. The city says Mesa County Public Health prohibits humans from swimming during the event. That restriction allows the facility to be used specifically for the dogs rather than a normal public swim. Holding the event on the final day of the season allows the pool to be drained and cleaned before people return to swimming.

Dogs can enjoy the 50-meter outdoor pool and a 13-foot diving well, with both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards. Pups can use the shallow instructional pool, grass areas, shade shelters, and pool-deck seating. Dog Days includes paddling, soaking, fetching, and diving-board leaps. Admission is usually $8 per dog.
