You would think that we were over this kind of harassment in Colorado, but no. A kids' lemonade stand saw the local sheriff's office arrive after getting a call.

You probably have to be a very cranky person to get on the phone and call the sheriff about what you think is an "illegal" lemonade stand. How long do they last, anyway- maybe a couple of hours?

They say, "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade," but when your lemonade gives you lemons, that is not fun.

Neighbors Call Sheriff on Lemonade Stand Near Silverthorne, Colorado

At the very least, the kids will have a fun story to tell when they get back to school, after the summer. Their lemonade stand actually had the sheriff show up, because of the neighbors.

The Denver Gazette has the story on how the Summit County Sheriff's Office was called out to a lemonade stand in late July, in a neighborhood close to Silverthorne. The sheriff's office reported that next door neighbors had a problem with the stand.

Apparently, the neighbors thought that the kids' stand was blocking traffic. When deputies got there, they didn't see any problem with where the stand was, though they did have them move it back a little for their safety.

Before the deputies could get to the end of the street, they noticed that the neighbors who had called them were out yelling at the kids. The deputies turned back around, again approached the stand and found that the neighbors were saying that the lemonade stand was on their property.

It was shared HOA property. The kids were not at fault, at all.

You'd have to hope that the deputies bought a couple of glasses of the lemonade, right?
