A Rock Legend’s Connection to Colorado-Based Classic Thriller ‘The Shining’
The classic thriller, "The Shining;" was released in 1980. The movie, based on Stephen King's novel that he wrote after staying at Estes Park's The Stanley Hotel, has been examined as much as it has been loved, for years. People talk about how director Stanley Kubrick put hints in the movie that he helped to stage the moon landing; some say it was all a dream. I've never heard anyone bring up one fact up, however.
The film's popularity has helped to make Colorado a horror destination, People come from all over the world to stay at the "haunted" hotel, to see for themselves that happens there. The upcoming Stanley Film Center will hold the Horror Film Museum, which will bring even more fans of the macabre.

Say, what?
