The Old Fashioned cocktail has been my go-to drink when it comes to a night out on the town for as long as I can remember. An Old Fashioned is one of those drinks where there is no in-between. It's either really good or not good at all.

I will say that there is a trend with bad Old Fashioned drinks and they all share one common denominator. The ice. If the Old Fashioned is chalked full of ice cubes that would normally come in a class of water or soda, nine times out of ten, the Old Fashioned isn't going to be good. I feel like that type of ice dilutes the drink so much faster and gives the sophisticated Old Fashioned a watered-down taste.

Touting the largest whiskey selection in Colorado is The Whisk(e)y at 214 South College Avenue. The Whisk(e)y has been serving up libations in the Choice City for over a decade and has a tasty Old Fashioned.

The Reserve By Old Elk

When it comes to the Old Fashioned in Fort Collins, this is my first choice every time. The Reserve at Old Elk is right in the middle of Old Town Fort Collins and the Old Fashioned is phenomenal. If you are with a group of friends and family and one of them happens not to love the Old Fashioned, not to worry. The Reserve at Old Elk serves up a large selection of cocktails suited to anyone's taste.

Greeley, Colorado

Greeley has one of the best places to get an Old Fashioned in all of Northern Colorado.

477 Distilling

Those who know about this location in Greeley, Colorado, know that the establishment is a hidden gem. Located in downtown Greeley, right next to The Rio is 477 Distilling. I love this place and so does everyone we take through the doors of 477 Distilling. Currently, 477 Distilling offers eight different types of Old Fashioneds. My personal favorite Old Fashioned from 477 Distilling is the Barrel Aged Old Fashioned.

Windsor, Colorado

Windsor, Colorado has a couple of great places to get an Old Fashioned. However, there is nothing quite like the ambiance and vibe of one particular place in town.

The Heart Distillery

The Heart Distillery has a fantastic Old Fashioned and the vibe sets this place apart from all others. What originally started as a garden center has expanded into a brewery and a distillery. Whether you want a craft beer or a cocktail, this is the place you need to go.
