
Colorado Winter Prep: Is a Snowblower a Smart Investment?
I can't believe that it is coming up on 10 years of living in my home in Northern Colorado. Seriously, where does the time go? It seems like it was last year when my wife and I purchased our home on a cold January day.
Still No Snowblower After Nine Winters
One of the things that I said I was going to do after enduring our first winter in our home was to buy a snowblower. Nine winters later, I still do not have one.

While the snow has yet to be seen this season on the Front Range, we know it will come sooner or later. When it does, I have a feeling Mother Nature will certainly make up for lost time.
This means shoveling. Lots and lots of shoveling of snow off the driveway and sidewalks. Remember when we got that Bomb Cyclone storm a few years ago? To this day, my back remembers it fondly.

In the past few weeks, I have been on the fence about actually purchasing a snowblower for my home. I feel like it would be a good investment because it would clear out the snow from the area quickly. On the other hand, I feel like it very well could be a waste of money if we get very little snow.
The Conundrum: Buy or Keep Shoveling?
As you can see, I am in a bit of a conundrum. Do I purchase a snowblower and have it pay off with the lack of having to use my back to do the brunt of the work, or do I endure the impending back pain from shoveling heavy, wet snow?
Asking Northern Colorado Residents for Advice
