Earlier this month I had a surprise surgery.

I woke up in the middle of the night in agonizing pain shooting from right underneath my chest to all the way around my back. It might've been the worst pain I've ever experienced in my life.

After a few hours of trying every home remedy I could think of, I made the decision to drive myself to the Emergency Room in Fort Collins.

I pulled into Banner Medical with my gallbladder and left over twenty-four hours without one.

Turns out I had a gallbladder attack. The medical team at Banner looked into it determined that there were gallstones that were messing with the organ, so they had to remove it before it got any worse.

The team took great care of me and I was out the next day.

Recovery Was Going Well… Until I Got Bored

In the days following my surgery, I had to lay low and relax. The more I rested, the faster I would be able to recover.

During that time I was a little loopy from the anesthesia and the prescribed medication that the team prescribed to me to deal with the pain.

I listened to my doctor and took the meds as prescribed.

However, there were some days where I was a bit wacky and...maybe a bit bored. On those days I turned to online shopping to help me pass the time.

The App That Got Me in Trouble: WhatNot

A dangerous place for me to be...

I ended up going to this app called WhatNot. It's a live stream shopping platform that sells trading cards, records, clothes, shoes, and so on.

If you're a collector, this app might already be on your radar.

I have a bit of a toxic relationship with this app. I'll randomly go on a stream and end up spending $20 here and $30 there.

It all adds up in the end.

Well, during my recovery I ended up hopping on the app and doing a whole lot of shopping apparently.

A week later when I was feeling better, these random boxes started showing up at my doorstep.

I had absolutely no clue what was inside of them and I couldn't remember what I bought. Turns out, I bought a bunch of WNBA trading cards (I'm a big Caitlin Clark fan), Marvel Funko pops, and chocolate...

A whole lot of chocolate...

I apparently spent thirty bucks on one giant box of Easter chocolate from a liquidation store in the Midwest. There were bags of Cadbury chocolate mini eggs, Reese's chocolate eggs, and a whole lot of chocolate bunnies.

These aren't just your normal run of the mill chocolate bunnies, these are Lindt golden bunnies. Growing up, I thought these candies were reserved for the rich kids at my school.

This whole experience was a bit of a wake up call. I should probably pull the breaks on online shopping for a while or else I'll end up owning my own little candy factory.
