Sometimes I feel like I'm 100 years old.

Let's take a look at buildings in Fort Collins that are for real 100 years old.

The Avery House

Located in the heart of Fort Collins, the Avery House is one of the oldest Victorian homes in town. Built for a very impressive businessman in 1879. For those math-challenged out there, that means the Avery House is 147 years old.

The Avery House is still sitting right on Mountain Avenue.

But before visiting, keep in mind that people have probably died there, and the risk of it being haunted is almost 100%. They also give school tours for children.

The Armstrong Hotel

The Armstrong Hotel is one of the oldest landmarks in Fort Collins, and it's still hoppin' 103 years after opening. Recent renovations were made, but the 1920s charm is still there.

Now, you can also visit their basement-level speakeasy, Ace Gellet's, which offers specially made cocktails.

But what about the ghosts? Just kidding...

The Northern Hotel

The Northern Hotel was built in 1905 and is now an affordable living community for 65+. Word on the street (my cousin) is that this place is incredibly haunted. But I don't think old people really care because they're tough and they've seen a lot in their lives.

The hotel was originally an agricultural hotel.

Auntie Stone's Cabin

This place is as creepy as it sounds. It's one of the last surviving structures in Fort Collins, which means at least 300 people (rough estimate) have probably died there, making it very haunted (zero verification on that). The building was built back in 1860.

Elizabeth "Auntie" Stone ran a mess hall for local military personnel along with her judge-husband. She was eventually named "Founding Mother" of Fort Collins.

I guess what I'm saying is that living in a town with multiple buildings well over 100 years old makes me think we're all surrounded by ghosts.

Have a great day.

Take a Look at Colorado's Iconic Stanley Hotel

Stephen King stayed in this hotel in the 1970s, and he was inspired to write The Shining, one of the best horror novels of all time. Many believe The Stanley has paranormal activity.
