Renters in Colorado Will Pay More For This
Renting an apartment or a home is expensive. Most renters are working hard to one day own a home, but some are content renting and prefer it. Most renters would like to pay less for rent, as it would give them more money to do other things, or more money to save up for a potential home. While most are looking to lower their cost of living, there is one thing many renters are willing to pay more for in Colorado, and it likely isn't what you think.
Renters Will Pay More For This One Thing in Colorado

Why would anyone want to pay more for rent if they didn't have to? Some things are worth a little extra money, and according to a recent survey by ipx1031.com, 67% of renters are willing to pay a little more for a landlord with a good reputation. According to the survey, 72% of renters have passed on a potential living place due to the landlord, 60% have not renewed a lease due to a landlord, and 57% have tried to break a lease early due to their landlord. In a sad statistic, 7 out of 10 renters have lost money due to their landlord. Other than losing money, what are the biggest issues renters have with landlords?
Landlord Issues in Colorado

Obviously, anyone who has rented has had an issue or two with their landlord. According to the survey, 68% say the biggest issue is communication with their landlord, with 66% saying poor maintenance was an issue, 41% complained about rent increases, and 35% said they had hidden fees. An astounding 97% said that bad landlords are far too common today, with 43% saying landlords are distrusted, and 1 in 5 saying they dislike their current landlord. When it comes to choosing landlords, 2 out of 3 renters prefer a small or local landlord, compared to a rental company. Small landlords often communicate better, are more trustworthy, and are more flexible with their tenants.
