From time to time, motorists in Grand Junction are asked to wait at the intersection of 12th Street and North Avenue as police close the roads to permit the Colorado Mesa University Football team, cheerleaders, and marching band, to put on a display. How do you feel about that?

The intersection of 12th and North has to be the single busiest intersection between Denver and Salt Lake City.

Last Saturday, November 15th, traffic was closed down at that location for approximately five minutes while the team and cheerleaders crossed the street and put on their performance.

A handful of CMU Maverick supporters made their way to the various corners of the intersection to lend their support. Grand Junction Police officers were on hand with four vehicles to block the streets.

While some people enjoyed the show, others expressed frustration at the idea of sitting stranded in the busiest intersection in Western Colorado.
