Glenwood Caverns Closes After Weekend Fatality at the Haunted Mine Drop
Glenwood Caverns theme park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado has announced a last-minute and temporary closure of the theme park on Labor Day after a weekend incident that resulted in a fatality.
Glenwood Caverns posted a message on the home page of their website which describes the accident and announces the park will remain closed through Tuesday of this week to allow for an investigation.
What Happened at Glenwood Caverns?
The Colorado Sun reports that a six-year-old girl from Colorado Springs has allegedly died as a result of injuries sustained while on the Haunted Mine Drop ride.
Employees at the theme park immediately tried to administer first aid to the child before emergency responders arrived. The Garfield County Coroner indicates the child was pronounced dead at the scene.
