Hanging Lake Shuttle Posts New Prices

In 2018, the US Forest Service announced plans for a shuttle service that requires a reservation and a fee.

The new plan will begin in May and will cap the daily visitors at 615, where currently over 1,000 per day visit Hanging Lake. So, from May to October, no vehicles will be allowed to park at the Hanging Lake area while the shuttle is in use. From November to April it will be allowed, but only by reservation. There will be a cost of $10 to reserve a parking spot at Hanging Lake during those off-peak times.

The cost of the shuttle will be $12 per person and will require a reservation, but you have the option of making that reservation either online or at the Hanging Lake Welcome Center at 110 Wulfsohn Rd in Glenwood Springs. A portion of the fees collected will go right back into keeping Hanging Lake the spectacular attraction it is.

There were 187,000 visitors to Hanging Lake in 2017 which necessitated the need for a better management idea for the area in order to preserve its natural beauty.
