Grand Valley Flu Season Off To A Nasty Start
It's not even October and already twenty Coloradans have been hospitalized with the flu.
I'm fortunate that I rarely (knocking on wood right now) get sick. I've missed maybe a day or two in the last 10 years in radio. In a business where your vocal cords are everything, we're hyper-sensitive to trying to prevent colds and the flu. The virus spreading around a radio station can literally take off the air so we're continually spaying down with Lysol and washing our hands.
The Mesa County Public Health folks remind everyone to wash your hands, stay home if you're not feeling well, and to prevent contracting the virus in the first place get yourself vaccinated.
Nearly 170 wound up in the hospital last year in Mesa County. You most certainly don't want to be one of those unfortunate persons this cold and flu season. For more info contact the Department of Public Health online by clicking HERE or call (970) 248-6900.
