Grand Junction School Hosting a ‘Teacher Parade’ This Thursday

When was the last time you attended a teacher parade? If you're like me, you've never attended such a thing. Your chance is coming up this Thursday.

Orchard Mesa Middle School announced today via their Facebook Page a planned parade featuring teachers. The event is coming up Thursday, April 30, at 4 p.m.

What does one do at a teacher parade? According to their Facebook post, you are asked to:

• Line the route
• Make signs to hold up
• Wave
• Smile
• Practice social distancing

That sounds easy enough. Where will you see this event? Check out the parade map provided by Orchard Mesa Middle School's Facebook page.

This sounds like fun. It's a bit out of the ordinary, but the world is currently a bit out of the ordinary. Parades such as this have already taken place in other communities, and they've been a huge hit.

This is something you can tell the grandkids about someday. You can tell them about the time you stood on the sidewalk and waved at the local teachers as they went by. I don't even have kids, but I'm planning on attending. Set aside a few minutes and come join me this Thursday.
