Major League Baseball may change the way they handle Minor League Baseball that could potentially end the Grand Junction Rockies.

According to Roxpile, the MLB could potentially eliminate 42 MiLB teams, including the entire Pioneer League which includes the Grand Junction Rockies.

The Grand Junction Rockies are the Advanced-Rookie affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. According to reports, the other farm team for the Colorado Rockies, the Lancaster JetHawks could also be in danger.

The other Pioneer League teams in jeopardy are:

  • Billings Mustangs
  • Great Falls Voyagers
  • Idaho Falls Chukars
  • Missoula Paddleheads
  • Orem Owlz
  • Rocky Mountain Vibes
  • Ogden Raptors

The keyword in all of this is "potentially." This will be discussed in upcoming MLB meetings.
