Grand Junction Location for ‘National Drug Take Back Day’

Do you have a supply of unused medications cluttering up your medicine cabinet? If you're like me, you have several bottles of the stuff littering your home. Coming up this Saturday, you can dispose of these safely with the DEA National Drug Take-Back Day.

I'm not really one for medications, but even at that, I have dozens of bottles polluting my home. It's strange how this stuff accumulates. For the most part, I get a bottle of pain meds, and then a year or two later, a bottle of one medication or another, and then a few years later, another prescription. After a while, there's a diverse collection of unneeded, expired meds sitting around the house. What do you do?

Coming up this Saturday, October 26, 2019, the DEA and the Grand Junction Police Department present the National Drug Take-Back Day. The event is being held at the City Market at 2600 N. 12th Street in Grand Junction from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

How does this work? The Grand Junction Police Department posted this on their official Facebook page:

Simply drop off your expired, unused, or unwanted medications and we'll take care of the rest. Help prevent prescription medications from ending up in the wrong hands and being misused or abused by disposing of them safely. Pills and patches only, please. Drop-offs accepted ONLY during the hours of the event.

 

What a great opportunity to do a little housekeeping. Watching the video above, it seems there's no end to the number of problems that could occur from leaving prescription medications lying around. For that matter, disposing of them carelessly could result in any number of complications.

Dispose of old meds once and for all. The GJPD will be at City Market at 12th and Patterson this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for National Drug Take-Back Day.
