This part of town is home to numerous art galleries that are especially fun to visit on First Friday, numerous music venues including the Mesa Theater and the Avalon Theater, longtime music shop J.B. Hart Music Co., block parties that feature live music, and more.

Just north of Main Street, you'll find the North Seventh Street Historic Residential District, which is home to the old R-5 school that currently houses the Gemini Beer Company and, beginning next month, will serve as the setting for the highly anticipated return of community jam sessions.

Grand Junction Community Jam Sessions Return This Spring

In case you're not familiar, the former R-5 school in Grand Junction is located at 310 North 7th Street and has since been converted into the home of Gemini Beer Company and frequently offers live entertainment on the spacious front lawn.

Beginning April 19, 2025, community jam sessions will be held at this historic location every third Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

These jam sessions are free of charge, and musicians of all ages, abilities, and preferred instruments are welcome to join.

The family-friendly events are put on by local songstress Misti Dawn and her outfit, Misti Morning Creative Services.
