We can sit here and complain about everything that has gone wrong this year, it has been tough, but we are almost finished with 2020. And making it through this unusually difficult year is something we should all be proud of.

Now we are just weeks away from Christmas and before we celebrate you're encouraged to join in the fun as Fruita Parks and Recreation host the Cookies N' Claus event on Wednesday, December 16th from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. taking place in front of the Fruita Community Center located at 324 North Coulson Street in Fruita.

As you probably expected this year's event will look a little different due to COVID-19 guidelines, which means this year's event will be a drive-thru event.

Santa and his friends will be in front of the Fruita Community Center, a safe distance from the vehicles that come to say hi. Children are highly encouraged to bring a letter to drop off to Santa in the North Pole Post Box. Click here to check out the letter template that is suggested for use from Fruita Parks and Rec.

There will still be cookies and other special treats for all who attend. This event is for vehicles only, please no walkups for this event just to keep everyone safe.

This event is free for everyone to attend, and all ages are welcome to drive by and say hi. Please remember to be in the holiday spirit and be sure to say thank you to all of the Fruita Parks and Recreation team who are helping to put on a really fun community event for everyone.
