Friday at Rock Jam we will be treated to a great live show with Sevendust. The guys are supporting their latest effort ‘Black Out The Sun,’ their ninth studio album.

Sevendust was formed in Atlanta in 1994 which at the time was a little odd. Not many metal bands where coming out of the south in the early 90s. The released their self-titled debut album in 1997 to little fan fare. They only sold about 311 copies in its first week but as their live show reputation started to build so did album sales.

Their real break came in 1998 when they join the Ozzfest tour that summer. Sevendust was on the fast track until Lajon Witherspoon’s younger brother was shot and killed and the band went on hiatus in 2002.

In 2003 they returned with their fourth album ‘Seasons’ and released their first live album and DVD. Since then Sevendust has been one of the hardest working bands in the business and like many good bands built their fan base from their live shows.

Friday at about 5pm you will get to see why Sevendust is one of the jewels on the 2013 Rock Jam line-up.
