This is one of those stories we hear about quite a bit.

A guy in Massachusetts went to an auction and paid $40 for an old desk. According to officials from the auction house, Kelley Auctions, they see this type of desk every day. They're extremely common.

But the one thing that wasn't common about this desk is what was left inside, WCVB-TV reported.

After digging around in it a bit, the new owner found $127,000 in mature savings bonds stuffed in an envelope in a hidden compartment.

He was shocked to find the hidden treasure. He then did something very noble: He contacted the auction house and was able to get in touch with the original owner of the desk and return the money!

The original owner, a 94-year-old man, desperately needed the money. He had sold everything he owned so he could afford to move into a nursing home.

Would you have returned the money? Yes? No?
