Summer means hot temperatures and very little cool areas to relax in that doesn't involve air conditioning or swimming with hundreds of other people.

Fortunately, we live in Colorado, which means when it gets too hot down here, we can go to the mountains to cool off and have fun. Let's go!

Not only is it cooler here, it's cooler here! Take your time and walk around and find great shops, awesome locals and awesome, fun ways to stay cool. Take a hike, check out the history, do some shopping and stay cool!

Volcanic cliffs, deep history and gorgeous scenery make this Southern Colorado town a destination to beat the heat. Balloon festivals and more are held here, and you can stay cool and enjoy them all.

The unofficial "Wildflower Capital of Colorado", Crested Butte is one beautiful place. Step back in time and enjoy the historical buildings and stories. And a nationally recognized art festival too!

Amazing, beautiful views and a sulphur hot springs that is relaxing and incredible. Stay all day to beat the heat, tour the town, learn about the history, then stay for a nice soak after the day is over. Perfection.

The Jazz Festival, the film festival and enough history to keep you checking out more and more, you won't notice the entire day has passed and you stayed cool. In a cool place. Oh and it's exceptionally beautiful up there.

Stay cool this summer, and if you have favorite places to cool off, share them and let's get cool!
