Be prepared to see the breakneck speeds of Sonic the Hedgehog from the eyes of the Blue Blur himself.

According to Kotaku, YouTube user Chadtronic has done it again with this amazing footage of a custom-built Sonic the Hedgehog level being played through the Oculus Rift VR headset. While watching Sonic the Hedgehog's 2D levels in a side-scrolling perspective might be interesting to see on the Oculus Rift in a Virtual Boy-sort of way, this game actually puts you in a first-person perspective. That's right, you watch from Sonic's eyes as he runs through every twist, loop and jump the level offers while maintaining his trademark speed.

You guys might recognize the name Chadtronic for providing other iconic games being ported over to the Oculus Rift in unique ways. Some of these include a fully functional version of Metroid Prime in which your movements with the VR headset reflect Samus' viewpoint, a first-person Mario Kart and even a first-person version of the original Super Mario Bros. NES title.
