Back on August 20th, Oren Hale, the Assistant Fire Marshal in Smith County, Tex. at the time, was pulled over by police after they observed him swerving in and out of his lane. When police officers approached the video, they noticed that Hale had pornography pulled up on the screen of his in-vehicle computer and was watching it while driving. They also saw that Hale had a cup with what appeared to be soda in it. When asked about it, he admitted that it was Coke... with a bit of bourbon in it.

A field sobriety test was administered to the Fire Marshal, but he surprisingly passed! Hale was given a ride home by deputies though, since he was violating policy by driving in such a manner.

An internal investigation showed that Hale was in violation of numerous county policies, including driving with an open container and viewing pornographic material on a county-issued laptop. Since the investigation, Hale has resigned his position as Assistant Fire Marshal.
