The Mesa County Sheriffs Office received a report of an elderly Grand Junction woman who disappeared from a Clifton restaurant this morning (September 13).

(UPDATE September 13 at 2:30 p.m.) Kay Covey has been found safe at home. Sheriff Deputies believe Covey walked home after she and her husband became separated from each other as they were leaving a Clifton restaurant.

According the Sheriff's report, 80 year old Kay Covey was last seen with her husband at Starvin Arvins Restaurant (Clifton location) this morning about 9:30 a.m. Her husband says the two became separated at the restaurant and he was unable to find her.

The Mesa County Sheriff's Department describes Covey as having white hair, about 5'2" tall, weighing about 130 pounds, wearing black pants and carrying a black purse. Her husband reports she has early stages of dementia.

Deputies have been searching for her in the Clifton area of F Road and the I-70 Business Loop.

Anyone who has seen a person matching Covey's description should call 911 or 242-6707.
