Drunk Swimmers Violating Telluride’s Drinking Water
A group of drunk swimmers reportedly violated Telluride's drinking water by taking regular dips at the water treatment facility.
According to the San Miguel County Sheriff's Department, authorities are investigating a group of homeless men who are allegedly using the water spot as their personal swimming pool. The sheriff's office says most of the men are "often highly intoxicated."
The men are camping in the Mill Creek area and are being investigated for violating the 30-day camping limit, and they say one of the men is legally in possession of firearms including an AR-15.
I understand that the water is adequately treated before it reaches consumers, however, if I was living in Telluride, I would be inclined to switch to bottled water until these trespassers are stopped. It's easy to imagine what else may be going on in that water beside swimming.
