The Darkness celebrated the New Year by announcing they found a new drummer, Emily Dolan Davies, but the group has already said goodbye to their new addition. In a post on the band's Facebook page, the Darkness reveal that Davies is leaving for “new projects” and that she will make a final appearance in the group’s upcoming music video for "Open Fire.”

Here’s what the band revealed about their split with Davies: “Sad to say our fantastic drummer Emily Dolan Davies is leaving for new projects, and so we part ways with fond farewells. Emily played a huge part in the recording of our new album Last of Our Kind and makes a final appearance in the video for our single “Open Fire” which is coming to a screen near you soon … Good luck Emily!”

While Davies had a big part in creating the group’s new disc, she won't even be in the band when the album released on June 1. So far, the group has put out a music video for their single “Barbarian” from the disc, and the official audio for “Open Fire.” As stated above, the music video for that song should be coming out shortly.

The Darkness have not yet announced a replacement for Emily Dolan Davies, but we will keep you updated. Frontman Justin Hawkins has previously said that the addition of Davies “revitalized” their group and that she had the “chops and the attitude that you need to be The Darkness’ drummer.”
