I've heard there are giant hornets that live in Japan, and have venom that is potent enough to melt human skin! Do you think it's true?

The answer is YES!

Wikipedia says adults can grow to more than 1.6 inches long!

They may be large and scary, but they're not very aggressive unless they're threatened.

Its venom is injected by its quarter-inch long stinger, which attacks the nervous system and damages the tissue of its victims.

However, while it is the most lethal animal in Japan, killing an average of 40 people every year, but it's not the most lethal venom in the hornet family. You definitely don't want to be stung, it's extremely painful and requires medical treatment.
