Disneyland’s Spider-Man Ride Will Give Guests Their Own Web-Shooter
There is a Spider-Man ride at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. And it’s a great ride. But Spider-Man is getting his first Disney ride in Disneyland next year — and this time you get to help Spider-Man in his adventure.
At the D23 Expo, Disney revealed some new concept art and some of the first details about the attraction, including the coolest part: Guests on the ride will get to use their own web-shooter to help Spidey collect Spider-Bots that have run amok at WEB — or “Worldwide Engineering Brigade”. You can see that idea in action in the concept art above.
The premise of the still-untitled ride is that guests are attending an open house at WEB, where you are then invited to try out a brand new “Web Slinger” vehicle. Once on board, you’ll use the web-shooter to collect these little Spider-Bots that are swarming all over the place.
Here was the other new piece of concept art featured at the panel, which looks to be some kind of pre-show for the ride, setting up the premise of the Spider-Bots and the Web-Slinger. (It’s not clear whether that’s an animatronic Spidey or a performer in a costume.)
Disney also shared concept art for its Doctor Strange experience...
... and a Pym Test Kitchen, where you’ll get to eat food of bizarre sizes.
Avengers Campus opens at Disneyland in 2020.
