DIA Celebrates New Technology, New Gates
Ahead of one of their busiest travel weekends of the year (though hopefully that will change for 2020 in light of COVID-19 concerns), Denver International Airport is celebrating a milestone: completing Phase 1 of their Concourse Expansion Program.
Not only does this mean the celebration of four new gates on B-west, but it also means more modern technology for travelers to make their journeys a little easier.
According to a press release, Phase 1 includes:
...a new modern airline check-in space for United Airlines and Southwest Airlines with self-bag drops to expedite the check-in process. There will also be four new restrooms and more square footage to improve passenger flow on Level 6.
This first phase completion for the Concourse Expansion Project brings DIA one step closer to completing their Great Hall Project, a $770 million dollar endeavor that hopes to "enhance security, increase capacity, improve operational efficiency and enhance the customer experience."
This means adding more security lanes, improving their meeter/greeter area, adding concessions, and more.
