Mesa County Valley School District 51 announced today that D51 buildings will be open to parents and students on Tuesday of next week so that they can get access to needed materials.

D51 buildings will open beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24. On that day, students and parents will be able to do the following:

  • Check out Chromebooks - See the Chromebook Checkout Policy. Please print and fill out the last page of the policy. The checkout process may vary from school to school. Please continue to monitor your email for any further instructions.
  • Pick up items for remote learning - Students can access the building to gather any belongings that they left behind at school prior to Spring Break which might be needed for remote learning.
  • Pick up medications - If you need to pick up medications, call the school starting on Monday, March 23 to set up a time to meet with the school nurse.

Everyone is asked to keep these visits brief. You are also asked to practice social distancing while there.

According to the statement by D51, schools and the district are currently working on a school-to-home communications plan and teachers will be preparing lesson plans next week. Updates on all topics regarding remote remote learning and closures at D51 schools can be found at the district's official webpage.
