If you were looking forward to a wintertime campfire, you're going to have to wait a little bit longer.

Due to Colorado's devastating wildfires, including the Cameron Peak Fire, Colorado Governor Jared Polis has decided to extend our fire ban for another 30 days. Under this executive order, the ban will expire on October 7.

According to 9News, the ban "prohibits all open burning and fireworks, but allows grills and camp stoves." In Larimer County, there's additional fire ban restrictions.

Three fires this year have been caused by humans, and let's not forget the now-infamous gender reveal that caused a deadly wildfire in California. Colorado wants to ensure that government resources do not feel a further strain with the continuous devastation in the state, also brought on in party by COVID-19.

The Pine Gulch Fire north of Grand Junction is officially the largest fire in Colorado history and the Cameron Peak Fire is the largest fire in Larimer County, surpassing the size of the High Park Fire in 2012.
