VIDEO: Colorado Woman Fends Off Bear In Her Yard
Bears, they’re so cute — but let’s face it, they can be dangerous.
They’re also simply part of life here in Colorado. Lately, it seems we’re seeing more and more encounters in our neighborhoods, whether it be from urban growth or the wildfires destroying their habitat.
It’s important to know what to do if you encounter a bear whether it be while on a hike or, like this woman while simply hanging out at home in your backyard.
Colorado Parks & Wildlife does have recommendations of how to live with bears.
The tips all surround on keeping snacks away from bears by not intentionally or unintentionally feeding them. CPW says to make sure trash and other aromas and attractions stored securely inside, and not left outside or in a car.
