Was Colorado Once Home to a Web-Footed Horse?
Colorado is known for the alleged existence of a number of wild legends, including Bigfoot's presence in the town of Bailey, the Navajo Skinwalkers of the Four Corners region, and even numerous accounts of cattle mutilation.

Interestingly, numerous unsettling accounts of unexplained phenomena come from a particular region in Colorado, the San Luis Valley, including some that claim the existence of web-footed horses.
Weird Stuff Happens in Colorado's San Luis Valley
The San Luis Valley is home to the Great Sand Dunes, but also numerous accounts of UFO sightings, cattle mutilation, mysterious singing winds, and the existence of web-footed horses.
History of Alleged Web-Footed Horses in Colorado
While the region was originally occupied by indigenous people, early accounts of web-footed horses came from white settlers who also claimed to hear singing winds at night.
The web-footed horses were allegedly only spotted under the moonlight, sometimes only under a full moon or just before dawn, and were said to be seen "gliding" over the sand with ease because of the webbed feet they had instead of hooves.
Possible Explanations for Colorado's Web-Footed Horses
Some have claimed that the existence of webbed-footed horses was purposefully made up as an ancient legend that the white settlers believed after first inhabiting the land, while others claim that the horses could have been a byproduct of evolution as a means for the animals to better navigate the sand.
However, others claim that the horses still exist and are of paranormal origins, which would explain why they've only been seen at night.
