Vintage Footage from the 1920s to 1960s Shows a Simpler Colorado
Stumbling upon old, vintage footage from when Colorado may have been considered, "a simpler time" for those that were there can be nostalgic for some and just plain fascinating for others.
Unfortunately, due to technological limitations of the time, it's incredibly rare to find footage that was taken, say, in the first half of the 20th Century.

However, as you'll see below, footage dating all the way back to the 1920s that was taken in Colorado Springs has seen the light of day and is an absolutely fascinating blast from the past.
Vintage Colorado Footage from the 1920s to the 1960s
The vast majority of the footage we're going to look at today was taken in or near Colorado Springs, with some of it dating back to, yes, the 1920s.
The footage depicts such iconic landmarks as The Broadmoor, Cave of the Winds, Pikes Peak, and Garden of the Gods.
In addition, much of the footage serves as a time warp as not only does it feature many of these places in the 1920s, but it also shows them in subsequent decades. Viewing this documentation not only shows how things like cars, fashion, and various parts of town have changed over the years but also shows a significant advancement in technology including the implementation of color in video.
