One of the things that the United States was founded on was allowing citizens a certain level of religious freedom. While it remains a topic that many avoid around the dinner table, religions such as Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism are all represented in some way across the state of Colorado.

While the most dominant religion in the United States is undoubtedly Christianity, including its numerous denominations, including Catholicism, Presbyterianism, and Methodism, to name a few, a look at recent data regarding the second-most prominent religious groups in each state shows results that may come as a surprise to some.
What Are the Two Most Prominent Religions in Colorado?
As mentioned above, the most prominent religion in Colorado, as well as the entire United States, is Christianity, but what is the second-most prominent?

According to a study published by the Facebook page Usa Thoughts, that distinction goes to Buddhism.
In fact, Buddhism is the second-most prominent religion in a number of states, including three that share a border with Colorado. Those states are New Mexico, Wyoming, and Utah.
However, as we move east, there almost appears to be an immediate geographical shift as states including Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas are all listed as having Islam as the second-most prominent religion.
Even further east, we see Judaism become represented as the second-most prominent religion in a number of states, along with the lone state that recognizes Baha'i as its second-most prominent religion, South Carolina.
