Meet Jen, a 40-something-year-old Colorado native that moved to Black Hawk somewhere around five years ago.
However, now Jen lives just outside of the popular gambling town in a very unique home made out of a repurposed shipping container.
The home is absolutely amazing, and features things like exterior trim made from Japanese charred cedar which make it fire-resistant, while simultaneously warding off bugs and birds.
The home has all the essentials - a living room, bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, and even a queen-sized pullout couch for when guests come to visit.
Upon deciding that this was the route she wanted to go with her new home, Jen obtained a permit and certificate of occupancy for the property and the house that would be placed on it and had it shipped in by truck and put in place by a crane.
While only 320 square feet in area, the old shipping container makes for perfect-sized living quarters for Jen and her dog Harley, with stunning views to go along with it.
