Colorado School District Closes Suddenly Monday as Teachers Strike
Schools will be closed today in the Park Country School District due to a teacher strike over pay and a new contract.
Park County School District president Kim Bungaard issued a statement Sunday night saying the school will be closed on Monday.
No buses will run and all athletics and extra-curricular activities have been canceled. Other school operations for staff will remain operational as a regular workday.
The Denver Post reports that the strike affects about 600 students, 42 teachers, and 80 staffers. The teachers are planning to march around the schools and district offices on Monday morning.
