Where Does Colorado Rank on the List of the Best States to Raise a Family?

According to a new study from WalletHub, Colorado ranks 11th out of 50 when it comes to the best states in which to raise a family.

The factors that contributed to this study include family fun, health and safety, education and childcare, affordability, and socio-economics.

Colorado ranked sixth in family fun, 37th in health and safety, 32nd in education and childcare, sixth in affordability, and 23rd in socio-economics.

What States Ranked Higher than Colorado on the List?

The study shows that the best state to raise a family in is currently Massachusetts, which ranked first in education and affordability.

The top spot was followed by Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New York, Illinois, Wisconsin, Maine, and Connecticut.

Where Do Other States that Border Colorado Land on the List?

Nebraska was the only state that borders Colorado to rank higher than the Centennial State on the list of best places to raise a family in 2025, which is followed by Utah at 20th, Wyoming at 26th, Arizona at 41st, Oklahoma at 46th, and Colorado's southern neighbor, New Mexico, was ranked the worst state in which to raise a family this year.
