However, one correctional facility in Colorado has a program that is helping its inmates find inner peace in an extremely positive way.
Colorado Correctional Facility Gives Inmates Inner Peace Through Yoga
The jail that has this program is known as Trinidad Correctional Facility and is located near the state's southeast border in Trinidad, Colorado.

The program is a yoga teacher training program and since its inception just under two years ago, has made a big, positive impact on a number of inmates' lives behind bars.
Before the program was introduced to the facility, a number of inmates began practicing yoga together and in an effort to make sure they were doing it right, requested the help of an expert.
The expert who would become the facility's official yoga teacher came in the form of Jean Crisler and since the program's inception, both Crisler and the inmates involved have reported phenomenal results.
It's been reported that yoga has helped the inmates deal with things like Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and anxiety, and has given them a sense of peace when faced with potential anger, a quality that many didn't realize they'd had in them.
Based on the results reported over the past year and a half, it would really appear that the introduction of the yoga program has been a positive move for the facility and its inmates.
