Colorado’s Powderhorn Mountain Says 2022 Was the Best Season on Record
2022 was a record-setting ski season for Colorado's Powderhorn Mountain! As the resort prepares to close down the slopes for spring, let's take a look at the two records that were broken this season up on the Grand Mesa.
The secret to this year's success was the snowfall totals. Mother Nature sent a great deal of snow to Powderhorn through the holiday season at the end of the year. The month of March brought about 4 feet of snowfall to Powderhorn Mountain according to NBC 11.
Powderhorn Ski Resort Set Two New Records in 2022
In 2022, Powderhorn Mountain held its longest ski season on record offering 121 days of Colorado skiing out here on the Western Slope.
Those extra days of skiing translated into a record number of skiers on the mountain this season. Events like the kid's winter games and 'you 12' ski race helped bring visitors back in a big way after the 2020 and 2021 seasons saw various covid-19 restrictions.

Powderhorn Mountain will officially close on April 3rd, 2022. The final weekend at Powderhorn will feature a Pond Skimming event coming up this Sunday afternoon from 1 to 3 PM. See what it is like to glide over a frozen pond up on the Grand Mesa!
