According to a Facebook post, Colorado Parks and Wildlife states, "The ceremony is often emotional, as it is the culmination of a lot of hard work. During the pinning ceremony, each new officer chooses a loved one to pin their new badge."

What's Involved With The Job?

Our work is meaningful, but not always easy. We get our boots dirty to manage the land, care for the State Parks, and keep trails open and safe. Someone has to keep the lakes clean, keep the weeds in check, monitor the herds, flocks and fish stocks, and watch out for threats to the health and safety of the outdoors. We all work, grow, and play as one team focused on doing our best for Colorado, one job at a time.​

What You Will Need To Apply

When it comes to the job title of Park Ranger, the webpage reads:

Most competitive applicants have a bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, earth sciences, environmental science, forestry, geology, natural resource management, outdoor recreation management, range management, parks administration, wildlife biology, zoology or a closely related field.

A combination of appropriate work experience in parks enforcement, natural resource management in a park or outdoor recreation setting, outdoor recreation management or parks administration may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
